8 Fiber MPO-12 APC To 4× LC Duplex UPC OS2 Breakout Cable

The 8 Fiber MPO-12 APC to 4× LC Duplex UPC OS2 Breakout Cable connects one parallel-optics MPO interface to four LC duplex links. It is used in compatible 400GBASE-DR4 to 4×100GBASE-DR/DR1 breakout connections.

One MPO-12 APC connector carries eight active OS2 single-mode fibers to four LC duplex UPC branches. The four branches can be routed to separate 100G optical ports, with LC01–LC04 identification for organized rack cabling.

The MPO-12 end has twelve fiber positions, with eight active fibers assigned to four transmit/receive pairs. Positions 1–4 and 9–12 carry the four parallel optical lanes; the center positions 5–8 are unused in this eight-fiber arrangement.

Each lane terminates in one LC duplex branch. The MPO APC interface is intended for compatible angled-polish parallel-optics connections, while the LC UPC ends connect to duplex single-mode optics. Connector pinning and end-to-end polarity are configured for the mating interfaces.

The harness provides four duplex fiber paths between a compatible 400G DR4 MPO-12 APC optical module and four 100G DR/DR1 LC duplex optical modules. The host switch or network interface operates in a supported 4×100G breakout mode.

Connection: 400G DR4 (MPO-12 APC) → 8-fiber OS2 breakout harness → 4×100G DR/DR1 (LC Duplex UPC).

The cable is a passive optical assembly. Available transmission distance and optical loss budget depend on the installed transceivers and the complete fiber channel.

Main cable length, LC fanout-leg length and branch arrangement can be selected to match the equipment layout. Equal-length branches suit closely grouped ports; staggered legs help reach ports at different positions without excess slack.
